Total time: 15 hours
Brendan, Clarissa, Nick and I had breakfast at the Millbrae Pancake house to discuss our plans. We went over a lot of things that we have yet to accomplish and made a rough calendar of when we want everything due. The main things that we want to finish are a mission statement for a team and website, design the actual website, design the shirts to be sold, and contact several survivors so that we can interview and record them.
Emily Sison is doing videography for her senior project, and we thought that it would be logical to have somebody record the interviews. We can have her join our team and have her post videos from the interviews she recorded. Our group is getting a little big, but I'm sure we will be fine as long as everybody pulls their weight.
Lastly, during first period, Clarissa and I finalized the mission statement. It is as follows:
"Ignited We Stand. Through community outreach and youth involvement, Spark Hope aspires to support our friends and family in the fight against cancer. Our heroes – the survivors of cancer – are the foundation of our cause, providing real-life experiences of their beautiful struggle and their second chance at life, hence the symbol of the phoenix. By raising funds and collecting donations, we aim to spread hope and inspire our peers to join the effort in the search for a treatment and a cure."
